Dude. How pathetic. The point of money is not to simply accumulate it. The point of making money is to make life more comfortable, more secure, and more enjoyable for yourself and those you love.

Could we all be "rich" if we spent all of our time accumulating and not spending. The answer is no. We need spenders for the economy to run properly. Economics is not just dividing up a pie. If it were, the pie would just keep getting smaller. For the economy to work, the pie must continue to grow.

Your type of accumulation without purpose simply allows you to die with a bunch of money in the bank. How does that make your life better?

Such a great post! You clearly reflects the real status of most if not everyone especially right now during the time of Global crisis. i can even relate even if i'm from the philippines. When I started in the company, my salary was just enough. now that i am already a supervisor, my salary is still just enough. *sigh

I do agree, people's life style do escalate as their income grows. If they earn 20,000 a year and spend 15,000$. It's just the same as a person who earn 100,000$ and spend 95,000$ due to bigger house, more cool care, and outrageous bills. Then what's the difference. If you keep thinking that you have to spend more because you earn more, then no amount of income can be enough for you. Only those who know the meaning of the word Enough can not be controlled by money.
